Having Your Video Spokesperson Point To A Specific Link

Tips From The Director's Chair

From time to time we will have a client request that their spokesperson point to a specific link on the client’s web page. Now we will do whatever the client desires, and honestly we have no problem doing that, however we do not recommend it and here’s why.

#1 – Your website is locked in to that design as long as you continue using your video spokesperson. In other words you cannot change the links in which the video spokesperson is pointing to.

#2 – Your video spokesperson will be stationary on the page even as your page moves up and down. If a website visitor scrolls down while the video is playing, chances are the spokesperson is going to be pointing at the wrong objects.

It is ok to have your video spokesperson reference a link on your website or asking them to click on a specific link. You can have video spokesperson say something along the lines of, “For more information click on the ‘Contact us’ link located in the upper right hand corner”. You get the idea.

Just something to think about.
